City of Killeen, TX

Homes for Sale in Killeen, TX

The City of Killeen began in 1882 to serve as a railroad junction between Lampasas and Temple, named after railroad executive Frank P. Killeen (interesting note: Mr. Killeen never once stepped foot in Killeen). Killeen remained a small Texas town, dealing mostly in cotton, until 1942 when Camp Hood was first established to help with the war effort.
